Mother and Daughter Decorating

Domino Magazine's mother and daughter house tour depicts the similarity and differences in the decorating tastes of mother versus daughter. These are some of my favorites:

The room below can be found in the home of Gun Nowak, co-owner of Face Stockholm cosmetics, of Germantown, NY. I love how if you only saw the distressed, white-wash, wood floors you would imagine country-style decor, but the worn-gold chairs give the room an air of elegance.

The daughter's room also incorporates a country/shabby chic - elegant feel. The unique chandelier in the center really creates a chic feel to the room. I also love the stacked mirrors and photographs on the mantle.

Lorraine Kirke, a store owner/designer from East Hampton, NY, describes the room as having a bordello feeling. My eyes are immediately drawn to the bathtub - gorgeous!

The daughter's room for some reason reminds me of secret garden. I love the arched nook for the bed, and the vintage, yet modern vibe. This room is definitely a mix of decor styles and it works.
